Meet the team
Brett holds a Diploma in Financial Services and is Tier 1 compliant for Insurance Broking. Brett specialises in providing tailored insurance programs for businesses throughout Australia, including property, public liability, professional liabilities and motor insurances. He also runs the Pharmacy insurance program.
Brett started his career with Zurich Insurance, working in a number of roles including underwriting and claims management. Brett has worked for various insurance companies and insurance brokers since 1997. He joined IOOF Insurance Brokers in 2012.
Away from work, Brett enjoys Australian Rules football and sport in general. He is married to Janelle and has a daughter, Emily.
Darren started his career with AMP General Insurance working in a number of roles including underwriting. He joined the Wenck Group in 1991, becoming a partner in 1996 and participating in the 2008 merger which formed IOOF Insurance Brokers.
Darren is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and has had strong industry involvement through serving as Chairman of the Australian Burglary Insurance Surveyors Association (QLD) and as Vice President of AFMA in 2004 and 2005. He has been involved in large portfolio transfers with underwriters and negotiating terms of business. He is a committee member for NIBA Queensland, (National Insurance Brokers Association).
Darren specialises in providing tailored insurance programs to protect assets, mitigate personal and professional liabilities and other personal risks for businesses, farms and corporations in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Darren enjoys playing cricket, coaching Australian Rules juniors and goes fishing whenever he can. He has also worked with Camp Quality in a voluntary capacity. He is married to Jodie and has three children.
Dana is an Insurance Adviser at IOOF Insurance Brokers. Dana holds a Certificate 3 in Financial Services – General Insurance and Tier 2 accreditations. During the course of Dana’s study, she was awarded the 2017 Steadfast-ANZIF Young Insurance Professional Scholarship & Outstanding Achievement Award for Providing Customer Advice.
Dana began her career at QBE where she gained extensive training and experience in underwriting, claims and accounts management. Since joining IOOF Insurance Brokers in 2011, Dana prides herself on her ability to bring guidance and comfort to her clients during some of the most distressing times, in her role as Claims Officer. With a focus on education, Dana is passionate about helping clients to protect themselves and their businesses against potential exposures and risks they could encounter. Most important is her ability to provide them with security and peace of mind that the impact to their livelihood in any such event is mitigated.
Donna is an Insurance Advisor with IOOF Insurance Brokers and has been in the Insurance industry since 2011.
She enjoys getting to know her clients and their business as this helps to identify their Insurance requirements.
Her aim is to help her clients protect their assets so if they suffer a loss, they are able to get back up and running as quickly and easily as they can. She works with families and small to medium businesses including trades and contractors to protect their assets. Some of the trades and contractors she works with are electricians, fencers, concreters, plumbers, gardeners and carpenters. And small to medium businesses such as Commercial Property Owners, accountants, financial planners, real estate agents, cafes etc.
Donna enjoys travelling overseas to experience the different cultures and cuisines. Some of her other hobbies include spending time with her family & friends, walking her dog, going to the beach, exercising and Netflix.
Ian holds a Diploma in Financial Services and is Tier 1 compliant for Insurance Broking.
Ian specialises in arranging contracts of insurance for all classes, and can arrange contracts of insurance via both the local & international markets.
Ian started his career with Lumley General Insurance in 1986 as a Motor Vehicle Fleet underwriter for Victoria & Tasmania, gaining valuable experience with Unit Cost and Burning Cost policies catering to both Large & Small Corporate Accounts, as well as assisting with claims when required, which also exposed Ian to additional departments within the Organisation. Ian left Lumley General Insurance in 1989 to travel and returned to Australia in 1991.
He then gained his start in Broking through a small independent Brokerage in South Melbourne, learning the various classes of insurance available and the complexities of each. Ian’s tenure here was for 13 years, until taking up a position at PNO Insurance Brokers, where he gained additional Broking skills over the next 12 years.
Looking to further expand his knowledge and experience, Ian saw an opportunity to develop a division of IOOF based in Melbourne.
Outside of business hours, Ian likes to build, renovate, cook (when time permits), and ride motorbikes with friends. Ian is a Melbourne Storm Fan. He enjoys sport, music and spending time with Family & Friends.
Matthew has a Diploma of Financial Services (General Insurance) and is actively involved in the industry, having served as Chairman of the Business Insurance Risk Management Association (QLD) for several years.
Matthew commenced his career with AMP General working in a variety of roles including customer service and underwriting. This led to an Assistant Fire Manager role within a major AMP agency in Brisbane. Matthew joined the Wenck Group in 1998 which later became IOOF Insurance Brokers.
Matthew specialises in providing tailored insurance programs for businesses throughout Australia and the Pacific, including property, public liability, professional liabilities and motor insurances.
Rebecca is an Internal Broker at IOOF Insurance Brokers.
Rebecca began her insurance career in 2007 whilst living in the UK. As a Customer Support officer with Cunningham Lindsay UK, she assisted in an interesting claim with the Specialist Subsidence Unit. On her return to Australia in 2008, Rebecca joined QBE as an Intermediary Claims Officer dealing with claims across all products ranging from Home & Contents and Motor to Personal Accident and Industrial Special Risks. In 2011, Rebecca made the move into broking, joining IOOF Insurance Brokers. She commenced her broking career as a Broker Assistant moving into the Internal Broker in 2014. Rebecca currently holds her Tier 1 certification.
One of Rebecca’s favourite past times is travelling. She has travelled through various parts of Europe and the United States, however, Disneyland still remains elusive! Rebecca has plans to further explore Europe and visit the United Kingdom to visit family.
Troy has been in the insurance industry for over 23 years and has held senior underwriting positions with some of Australia’s largest underwriters. He has been an insurance broker since 2007 and joined IOOF Insurance Brokers in 2011.
Troy has provided insurance programs for both small businesses and large national companies in Australia. His client base stretches to the Pacific Islands and the USA.
Troy has a passion for all facets of the insurance industry and leaves no stone unturned to ensure the broadest of cover is at his clients’ fingertips. The knowledge he gained from broking and underwriting is invaluable in understanding the risks and exposures facing his clients.
