The IOOF group not only looks after the financial wellbeing of thousands of Australians but cares in other ways too, by supporting those Australians who are disadvantaged by health or circumstance.
In recognition of the long history of the IOOF group and the important role it has played in supporting the community since 1846, the IOOF Foundation was established as a not-for-profit in June 2002 as part of the demutualisation of IOOF Limited.
The IOOF Foundation provides grants that support Australian not-for-profit organisations working with disadvantaged families, disadvantaged children and youth and aged care. The IOOF Foundation is making a difference to those in need.
As at 30 June 2019, the IOOF Foundation had gifted over $14.5m to over 200 charities nation-wide.
The IOOF Foundation is a separate entity to IOOF Holdings Ltd and has its own independent Board of Directors. The Directors graciously commit their time and knowledge to ensure the grants remain true to the principles on which our Foundation was established.
Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce (Melbourne University)
Previously a partner at Clayton Utz (1987-1994), in house legal counsel for the Gandel Group (1996-2000) and a partner with Freehills (2000-2004).
Previous Board appointments have included the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and the Urban Land Corporation (now VicUrban).
Until recently has been running her own retail business.
Elizabeth A Alexander
Independent Non-Executive Director
AM. BCom, FCPA, FCA, FAICD
Elizabeth Alexander is a Company Director and advisor with Ashurst International legal firm. She is currently the Chair of Medibank Private, anon-executive director of Dexus Property Group and Chancellor of University of Melbourne.
Elizabeth was the former Chair of CSL and also the former independent Chair of the Audit Committee of the Australian Prudential Regulator (APRA) and of the Risk and Audit Committee of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. She is a former member of the Takeovers Panel and Deputy Chair of the Financial Reporting Council. As a former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (1977-2002), she specialised in the area of risk management and corporate governance issues, and was responsible for the establishment of these practices within Australian.
Elizabeth has served on many government committees which have included the Trade Policy Advisory Committee of the Minister of Trade, the Small Business Council of Australia, the Australian Film Commission and the Gas and Fuel Corporation. Elizabeth is a past National President of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a former National President of CPA Australia. It was during her Presidency of CPA Australia that the drive for legal backing to accounting standards in Australia was achieved.
She was a winner of the Veuve Cliquot Business Woman of the Year, is a former Chair of the Board of Advice to the Salvation Army in Australia, and is National President of the Winston Churchill Fellowship Trust. She is a member of the Order of Australia, and was awarded a Centenary medal.
Susan Heron FAIM
Susan Heron is the current Managing Director of ADP Australia & New Zealand, the local subsidiary of the ADP group, one of the world's largest providers of business outsourcing.
From 2004 to October 2012 she was the CEO of the Australian Institute of Management VT and Idria Pty Ltd. Prior to joining AIM, Susan held various senior corporate management positions including Chief Operating Officer and Head of Corporate Strategy, ANZ Institutional Banking; Executive Director and Head of Banking (Melbourne), Rothschild Australia; and Chief Manager at Westpac.
Susan's executive experience is complimented by a wide range of Board appointments during her career including NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia); Museum Victoria; Malthouse Theatre; Country Fire Authority; Southern Health Care Network; and Water EcoScience Limited.
Dip Acc, FCC, FAICD
Mr Selak has over 40 years’ experience in the financial and advisory services industry. From 2000 to 2016 he was a partner in the Corporate Finance Practice of Ernst & Young, providing valuation services to a broad range of local and international clients and also serving on their Global Corporate Finance Executive.
Mr Selak is an Independent Non-Executive Director of IOOF Holdings Ltd.
Tamara Stillwell has worked in the disability sector for almost 20 years, working in a variety of services and roles, with the bulk of her work being in the mental health sector.
She has held a diverse portfolio includes with working directly with clients; specialising in complex trauma with complex mental illness, running group programs and support groups, managing projects, research and mental health advocacy, creating learning and development modules, and specialised programs, and facilitation. She now owns business developing and delivering training for a wide range of organisations.
Tamara has a wide range of education including several degrees and certifications from three different continents.
IOOF Foundation Manager
Trish Briggs joined the IOOF Holdings Ltd group in 2012 taking on the Management of the IOOF Foundation and a member of the AET Discretionary Funding Committee.
Trish provides pro bono fundraising support to a number of Australian charities. She previously worked with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation as the Business Manager gaining invaluable exposure to the not for profit sector whilst developing corporate partnerships that raise much-needed funds for ovarian cancer research.
Previously, she worked in variety of marketing roles at National Australia Bank and ANZ over a 10 year period. The roles delivered in the areas of community / csr, sponsorship and product management. Trish holds a Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Monash University.
